Founder of Super Local Food Project and a 2020 graduate from Regent University with Masters Degree in Public Administration Lara Zawacki has vast experience rooted in growing, gardening, and service to others. A 9 year veteran of our United States Coast Guard, where she served men and women as a Health Services Technician. Then returning to civilian life to serve children and adults with a degree in Occupational Therapy. Lara addressed maintaining an independent lifestyle for children and elders in Hampton Roads, and planted a few gardens along the way! She assisted with building and planning school gardens at Hampton and Phoebus High schools. Revitalized an accessible garden space with Programs for All-inclusive Care for the Elderly in Hampton and Newport News. Lara served as a board member for Volunteer and Community Outreach for Hampton Grows a 501-c-3 organization based in Hampton. Following as president of the Tidewater Cop Mob where community volunteers would commit to a day of service for a local farmer. The Super Local Food Project dawning was to serve a community need for local, sustainable, and equitable products for fellow citizens of Hampton Roads. SLFP connected farmer with product to local restaurants chef's and sold at Farmers Markets. Lara's passion for growing continues with two urban locations in Hampton and Newport News and participates in City Center and Buckroe Beach Markets selling seasonal and local foods. SLFP continues to partner with area non-profits to develop funding strategies and grant submissions.
